Oil producers need to measure  production from different wells before flow streams are co-mingled for transportation to central facilities and to calculate government royalties.  The Gas-Liquid Cyclone Cylinder (GLCC) Separator is a highly efficient, cost effective and quick way to remove the natural gas from the liquid stream.  After the GLCC, a simple bench level liquids separation test determines the exact water cut, and from the sum of these two steps a Gas Oil Ratio (GOR) can be readily calculated. The GLCC Separator uses state of the art cyclone technology with enhanced reliability, performance and  smaller physical size compared with conventional in situ separators.  The entire GLCC system can be mounted on a trailer and moved from site to site. The GLCC also uses an all electric control system which is SCADA capable, enabling remote operation.

Given the GLCC’s dramatically reduced size, it is highly mobile, and is typically mounted on a trailer and transported by a one ton truck.  In summary, the key advantages are:

  • Compact and highly efficiency
  • Much lower cost than conventional separators
  • Low pressure drop meaning better process flows and downstream comingling of product flows
  • Superior separation resulting in more accurate gas and liquid measurement
  • Less foaming and shearing than conventional separators
  • Light weight and highly mobile
  • Capable of standalone operations
  • Fully electrified enhancing flexibility in deployment reduced logistics issues
